After their success with Deluxe, BTE finally had a proper recording budget, and with producer Don Gehman (known for working with R.E.M. and Hootie and the Blowfish), they skillfully blended songwriter Kevin Griffins Southern charm with the powerful guitar sounds of the time, creating a college radio favorite led by hits like King of New Orleans and Desperately Wanting.
