Jimi Hendrix's legendary "Band Of Gypsys" is back on LP in 2018, on 180g vinyl.
Originally released in 1970, the live album was created in collaboration with drummer Buddy Miles and bassist Billy Cox, making it the first album without the Jimi Hendrix Experience. The trio is often self-described as the "Band Of Gypsys."
Band Of Gypsys" was recorded on New Year's Eve from December 31, 1969 to January 1, 1970 at the Fillmore East in New York City.
It is the last complete album released before Hendrix's death, also the only live album authorized by the guitar virtuoso himself.
"Band Of Gypsys" combines different styles like straight rock, funk and R'n'B. Today the album is one of the most important influences for the development of funk rock.
