The real Jefferson Airplane album "Volunteers" was released in 1969, just two years after her psychedelic hippie rock monumental work "Surrealistic Pillow". As a politically charged album, "Volunteers" deals primarily with the injustice of the Vietnam War. The lyrics were controversial, but on a technical level the album was ahead of all others
"Volunteers" was one of the first albums to be recorded on a state-of-the-art 16-track device, which is also honored with an image on the back of the artwork. As musical collaborators, Stephen Still and David Crosby are on board, making the album one of the top albums in Jefferson Airplane's back catalogue.
