Merge Records invited us to be a part of their subscription series. They provided us with a budget and gave us the freedom to cover any album of our choice, from any era. We had many ideas, such as covering classic albums like Sheer Heart Attack, Tapestry, Captain Fantastic, Off the Wall, and Purple Rain. However, Andrew insisted that we tackle Neon Bible because he believed we could bring a unique and cool perspective to it. As we delved into the album, we discovered that it was a great work with a clear thematic focus and cohesive sound. These insights will certainly influence our upcoming AGD record.

We rehearsed each song for five hours twice in my living room, then went to the studio with Stuart Sikes. The themes in the album, such as outrage towards U.S. leadership in the early 2000s and the desire to escape our social climate, unfortunately, still resonate today.
