Highwallow & Supermoon Songs marks an exciting comeback for Saintseneca, showcasing their most expansive and heartfelt album yet. Spanning 21 tracks on a double LP, its full of deep emotion and adventurous sounds, and its their first release with Lame-O Recordsa truly special chapter in their musical journey.Zac Little, the band's talented leader known for his poetic lyrics and creative arrangements, came back from a period of creative burnout with fresh energy and purpose. Inspired by a renewed joy in visual art and vibrant colors, the songs on Highwallow feel more like discoveries rather than just written piecesorganic, dreamlike, and lively. The albums theme centers around a surreal landscape with two moons, and the songs are grouped into three celestial worlds: the earthy Landscape (tracks 110), the lush Viridian Moon, and the warm-toned Cinnamon Moon (which includes 5 exclusive songs for those who buy the physical album or bandcamp downloads!).Recorded at Zacs cozy home studio and produced with the talented Mike Mogis (known for work with Bright Eyes and Rilo Kiley), this record beautifully blends folk, shoegaze, and experimental pop styles. Highlights include the catchy and breezy 'Sweet Nothing,' the genre-blending epic 'Bitter Sweet,' and the hauntingly beautiful 'Battery Lifer.' Saintsenecas signature string-driven folk is enhanced by synths, samples, and field recordings, creating what Zac calls Unamericana.Following acclaimed releases on ANTI- (such as 'Dark Arc' and 'Pillar of Na'), Saintseneca returns with a fully realized and vibrant vision. The album comes in a special gatefold jacket featuring artwork by Zac himself, inspired by his personal healing art practice. This is a truly exciting moment for the band and a treasure for collectorsfull of mythology, rich sound, and compelling stories.
