At that time they were not yet among the big names in the business
This album - "Relaxing with the Miles Davis Quintet" - and its counterparts from the Prestige series (Cookin', Workin' and Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quintet) re-established Miles Davis in the upper jazz league. From then on, he and his quintet belonged to the small group of the best jazz combos around. The recording got the name "Relaxin'" because of the ballad-like execution and various very easy parts
